5 Steps to Install macOS Sierra 10.12 on VirtualBox in Windows PC

Before we get started, there are several key points, make sure you have full-filled the requirements and accomplished the primary steps from below.

Note: Before we begin installation, make sure you have enabled virtualization on your PC and VMware too. Here’s how to do it:-

#Step 1: Download & full-fil the requirements

Required System
  • 2GB Memory(RAM)
  • Number of Processors: 2
  • Hard Disk: 80GB
  • Graphics memory: 256 MB

When the files downloaded, extract them and get ready for the installation.

Step 2# Create a New Virtual Machine

Now open VirtualBox and click on New or press “Ctrl + N” to create a new virtual machine. On the Virtual Machine page, describe the operating system name, type, version and click Next like the shot below.

Set your 50-60% memory size (RAM) for the virtual machine, as the minimum memory size should be 2GB or more.

On the Hard Disk window, select “Use an existing virtual hard disk file” then choose macOS High Sierra 10.13 extracted file and click open then click Create on the hard disk page.

Step 3#: Setup Secondary Settings

The secondary settings are the followings below:

  • Setup 50-60% of your PC (RAM)
  • Uncheck floppy
  • Increase video memory to 128mb

Step 4#: Add Code to Virtual Machine

After you’ve setup virtual machine thoroughly, now you’re ready to take the next step.

To add code to the virtual machine, copy the code from below and paste it on Wordpad. Now on the VirtualBox, click Settings on the virtual machine, and copy the name from the page and start replacing it with “Your VM Name”  instantly like the shot below.

Now close VirtualBox and open Command Prompt(CMD) as administrator and paste the code below and hit Enter.

When the Command Prompt opened, paste the code below by right click and hit Enter.

#Step 5: Install macOS Sierra 10.12 on VirtualBox

When you’ve completed the step above, open VirtualBox and click Start on the virtual Machine.

The VM will start running and you’ll see some codes running, it will take 5-10 minutes, when it finished, on the first page you’ll see the Welcome page, choose your country and click Continue.

On this page, select Don’t transfer any information now and Continue.

Sign In with Your Apple ID and if you don’t have an Apple ID and want to make one click the link below otherwise select Don’t sign in and Continue.

1# Run & Open VMware Tools

Hey, before beginning the installation you need to take care them in order to install it fully on your computer.

Minimum system requirements

  • 2GB Memory(RAM)
  • Number of Processors: 2
  • Hard Disk: 80GB
  • Graphics memory: 256 MB

Important Note: Before begin installing MacOS Sierra, make sure you have enabled Virtualization on your PC and VMware too. Here’s how to do it:-

Step 1# Create a New Virtual Machine

After finishing the steps above, now it’s time to begin start virtualizing and installing Mac OS Sierra. Let’s get started.

#1. Open File Explorer and navigate to unlocker208 extracted files and right click on win-install and select Run as administrator, when the windows ask your permission click Yes. This will unlock or start VMware services of Mac so that you can choose and install Mac on VMware.

#2. Now open VMware and click on File>New virtual machine(Ctrl+N), when the new virtual machine wizard pops up, just click Next.

#3. In this step, you’ve to select I will install the operating system later and click Next.

#4. Here you need to select Apple Mac OS X as operating system and choose 10.11 from OS X version then click Next.

#5. Customize your virtual machine name and location for the installation like the shot and hit Next.

#6. Now you don’t need to do anything just hit Next due to we won’t use the drive for our installation.

#7. Everything is ready now, customize hardware if needed or finalize the virtual machine settings creation by hitting Finish.

Step 2# Edit the Virtual Machine & Replace the VM Hard Disk

When the virtual machine created, point out your mouse on Edit virtual machine settings and click on it.

Notice: After the virtual machine has been created, don’t turn it on otherwise you might lose the virtual machine and begin the steps from the beginning.

Now here you can increase memory, processor if your system allows you and then select Hard Disk option and click Remove. When the hard disk removed, click Add then select Hard Disk and click Next.

On this page, let all things by default, just click Next.

Here you need to select use an existing virtual disk and click Next.

Now browse the VMDK file of MacOS Sierra from the extracted folder that you had downloaded then click Finish then click Ok on virtual machine settings.

Step 3# Edit the Virtual Machine (VMX) & Write Down the Command

It’s time to edit the VMX file of the virtual machine, to do that navigate to the macOS Sierra virtual machine files you had created and right-click on it and open it with Notepad.

When the file opened, scroll to the end and type the command down then press Ctrl+S to save it.

Note: If you got the error later saying the value 0 in Smc.version = “0” is not valid, take away the quotations and it will work.

Step #4 Install macOS Sierra 10.12 on VMware

All right and now what you’re going to do next is power on the VM by clicking on the button above Power on this virtual machine.

When the VM powered on, on the first screen you’ll see the welcome page, choose your country then click Continue. This installation is similar to other OS X installation, so just enjoy.

Now choose a keyboard layout and hit Continue.

Select Don’t transfer any information now and hit enter.

It’s your choice whether you allow or disallow location services, choose one and click Continue.
